WEEK 11 – TERM 4 (9th – 13th December):
As you may be aware, this year (as it is every leap year) we have an additional school week. It just so happens that this additional week is in term 4, therefore creating Week 11. In Week 11 of term 4, our teachers and teacher aides will be engaging in mandatory training, professional development around the Australian Curriculum and preparing for the 2025 school year.

The Minister of Education has advised schools that an alternate program for the last week of school can be implemented. Whilst Bundaberg South will remain open in week 11, out teachers and teacher aides will be involved in the above-mentioned mandatory training and professional development and therefore will be taken off class for periods of time during the week. This will mean that classes may be supported and supervised by a range of other teachers including specialist teachers, support teachers and relief teachers. Depending on the number of students in the school, classes may be combined or students may be sent to a different learning area than their normal classroom. We understand that many parents will require students to be at school for this week, however if you are intending on going on holiday early or not sending your child this week, could you please let the Administration team know as soon as possible on 41308333, so we can start to prepare for the final week. Thank you for your support around this final week of school.

ENROLMENTS 2025:

Being able to estimate student numbers for 2025 school year is a very important process. Therefore, I would like all parents to read the requests below carefully, and act on any of them that are relevant to their situation. This will help the school make judgements on staffing and class groupings ASAP.
• If you intend to enrol your children at Bundaberg South State School, please make an appointment to see the Principal ASAP, this does not apply to children already currently enrolled.
• If you know of any families wanting to enrol at Bundaberg South State School, please encourage them to make an appointment ASAP.
• If your child is changing schools in 2025, please let the office now ASAP.

LOST PROPERTY BOX

Located outside the First Aid Room in E Block downstairs, the box is overflowing again!
We ask that parents/carers/students check the box regularly for lost items. Please ensure all items (clothing, hats, lunch boxes, water bottles) are named.

STUDENT COLLECTION
Parents/Carers - please ensure you are arriving BEFORE 3pm to collect students each afternoon. It can be distressing for students when parents arrive late to collect students after class on a regular basis. School staff sometimes have scheduled meetings/appointments straight after school to attend. Handy Hints:
⏰ Set an alarm on your mobile phone
🚩 Let your child know where you will be meeting them at 3pm
📞 Update your child's emergency contact details

LIBRARY BOOKS
ALL Library books borrowed are to be returned to the Library this week. There will be NO borrowing for the remainder of the Term 4.
